I was never much of a tap dancing fan until I saw
Gregory Hines, then I was hooked! And it wasn't just
the appreciation for his talent, it was the total persona presented by this man. Never could I get enough of watching him dance (or watching him, period). Recently,
I caught a clip of him on tv and realized again how much
I miss watching him perform. He died in 2003 at the age
of 57. For me, I think there could never be anyone to equal the talents of Gregory Hines.
If you haven't seen his work for a while, check out this video and enjoy:

Have a great weekend everyone!

I forgot how great a dancer he was, perfect in every way. Thank you for reminding me. He's a true joy to watch! (Hugs)Indigo
A beautiful man with amazing talent. thanks.
Hi, Char-I so admire those that dance well, that have fluid control over the emotions of rheir bodies. So not me, that's why. ~Rick
Yes, he was amazing, wasn't he? Did you ever see "White Nights" with him and Mikhail Barishnikov? Neat 80's movie!
Yes, he was lovely indeed.
Thanks for stopping by, guys.
Beth, I think I've seen everything he was ever in. I will have to find them and watch again.
Rick, you even comment in poetry,
"fluid control over the emotions.."
So incredibly talented! His zest for life was always shining through.
He was great all around entertainer and a very nice man.

I once got hired to do a few lines on Will and Grace. Mr. Hines was on that episode. I was speechless when I met him, just speechless. He was very handsome. A real loss
Hi Char. Vagabond Leaves is where I put old entries saved from AOL Jland, some appropriately dated, some not. I put up the ones I think are worth saving for one reason or another. Enjoy. DB
Gregory Hines. I bow to the man as an artist.
I spent alot of years trying to be a ballerina. Trying to distiguish yourself as a dancer requires more then talent.
I'm ready for your next blog Madam. :-)
Big fan. Thank you, Char for reading. I'm reading you.
Char, I'm not sure I can tell you exactly what Keillor means by that remark but I know that a great many things we think of as reality are only substantial up to the point that we allow them to be, and some things become cowards under close observation, after which denial lends them a boot in the rear. He's dead????
